Firstly a little about me and what I do at Nailed It Design…
I am the only member of Nailed It that doesn't know how to use Photoshop. I don't do any of the technical/web design stuff with Nailed It Design. I do love cool websites, I like to think I have a semi eye for design and most importantly I am passionate about other peoples businesses and always want to provide a good service which exceeds clients expectations (that's my Disney training coming back to haunt me!). Basically my role in Nailed It Design is to be the communicator/translator, the person who gets to go on the journey with the client and make sure they get exactly what they want out of their website. The reason for me explaining this is because for all that I can't do on Photoshop / web design etc I do do a fair bit back end work within in eCommerce which requires images to be re-sized /cropped. In fact it got to a point about 2 weeks ago where I felt like I was constantly asking Jack to sort my images out. At this point it occurred to me that it must be relatively easy as it would take Jack like 5 mins to resize and crop about 500 images! So I asked him to show me how to do it, I downloaded a Photoshop and hey presto here's my blog on how to do it!
How to crop and resize a batch of images using Photoshop
*Tip before starting:
– Try to take your images from the same angle and distance, and keep it centered for close-ups try to keep the object you're focusing on in the centre.

Firstly you are going to want to create three folders on your desktop, I've called mine; ‘Original Images', ‘Cropped Images' and ‘Resized Images' this will become more obvious later in the tutorial but it helps to keep everything clean and tidy.

Next step is to open your image in Photoshop.
Then you want top go to the top menu bar, hover over ‘Window' and select the ‘action' option, this should bring up a new box on your screen. App cleaner pro 6 5 qt.
Next click the little paper fold icon and create a new action.
Call this ‘Crop' and click ‘Record'.
Bloom 1 0 593. Bevas and buthead. Then select the crop tool and holding the Shift key (keeps the box square) draw a box around the area you want to crop.
Then simply click stop on the actions box.
Then simply close this file, and go to: File>Automate>Batch.
Make sure the action you have just created is the action for the post and choose the folder ‘Original Images' then…
…For the destination select the cropped images folder and press okay. This should then start the batch process, Just hit okay as the images try to save.
Once this is done open up your new square image.
Create a new action and call it resize and click record.

Go to image>image size and click
Then simply type in the size you want, and follow the automate steps with the new action and you're all done!
See easy! If I can do it literally anybody surely can too!
